Where most CHIRP transducers narrow their beam as frequency rises, the wide high band holds a fixed 25 degree beam across the whole range, putting far more coverage beneath the boat and revealing more fish in the water column.\n\nWith 2 kW of transmit power the low band sounds to 6,000 ft while the wide high band gives broad, detailed returns to 500 ft. The urethane housing installs as an external thru-hull with a High-Performance Fairing and suits fibreglass, wood or metal hulls up to 22 degrees deadrise on vessels of 12 m and above. An integral depth and fast-response temperature sensor is included.
