Instead of a hydraulic pump, this system uses a steering actuator that fits into the motor tilt tube to steer the outboard, plus a throttle actuator that controls the motor speed, so the autopilot can hold a heading hands-free. The steering actuator must be installed in a stainless steel tilt tube for reliable long-term operation. This corepack is supplied without a dedicated instrument: the CCU connects to a NMEA 2000 network and is controlled from a compatible Garmin chartplotter, which also feeds it waypoint and route data.
