Wiring a Raymarine camera correctly
Raymarine cameras are generally powered and networked over RayNet cabling, which carries both data and power over a single run and avoids a separate cable back to the display. Run length matters more than it first appears, since voltage drop over a long cable can leave a camera underpowered even though the connection itself looks sound; a mid-run junction or PoE injector is often the tidier fix rather than one continuous cable from bow to helm. Mounting brackets are sold separately from the camera and vary between the fixed dome-style units and the pan and tilt models.
Where more than one camera is fitted, a small switch is usually needed to combine feeds before they reach the MFD, since most displays have a limited number of direct camera inputs. Check the connector type on your existing MFD before ordering cable, as Raymarine has used more than one RayNet fitting across its display generations.
