Radio Remote Control
Quick Radio Remote Control — part of the Quick Anchoring Systems & Capstans range.
Fitting a remote to your windlass
A Quick radio remote gives control of the windlass from anywhere on deck rather than tying you to a fixed switch at the helm or bow, which is particularly useful when anchoring single handed or when the person on the bow needs to judge chain and depth themselves. Pairing the remote to the receiver unit and confirming range across the whole deck area is worth doing before you rely on it in a tight anchorage.
The receiver wires into the existing windlass control circuit, so check it's compatible with your specific Quick capstan or windlass model and control panel before ordering, since control wiring differs across the range.
Keep a spare battery or charging lead for the handset aboard, since a flat remote with no backup switch at the helm leaves you without windlass control at an inconvenient moment.
