What Yachtsense adds to a boat
Yachtsense sits between a simple battery monitor and a full digital switching installation. It reads existing sensors, battery voltage, bilge float switches, temperature and similar, and puts that information on a phone app rather than requiring a dedicated control panel at the helm, which makes it a practical add-on for a boat left unattended on a mooring rather than a replacement for onboard instrumentation. Because it relies on a data or WiFi connection to reach the boat, signal at the mooring affects how reliably alerts arrive, which is worth checking before assuming remote monitoring will work everywhere the boat lies.
Where a boat already runs digital switching from CZone, EmpirBus or a Maretron NMEA 2000 network, Yachtsense can generally sit alongside it, adding remote access rather than replacing the switching itself. Sensor count and what can be monitored depends on the installation, so it's worth mapping out which circuits matter most before specifying a system.
