Finding the right part for your motor
Trolling motor spares are rarely universal across a brand's own range, let alone between manufacturers, so the safest way to order a propeller, shaft extension or mounting bracket is against the exact model and, where the motor has been updated, its generation or serial range, since housings and shaft diameters do change between revisions. A prop that looks the right size can still have the wrong pitch or rotation, which shows up as poor thrust rather than an outright failure.
Shaft length should be chosen for the boat's bow height above the waterline at rest and under way, not just the transom or bow mount type, since a shaft that is too short lets the prop ventilate in chop. Electrical spares such as plugs and connectors are usually specific to the motor's control system, foot pedal, hand control or remote, so check which one you have before ordering a replacement lead.
