Choosing charts for a LightHouse display
LightHouse-based Axiom and Element displays take charts on microSD, and the practical choice is generally between Raymarine's own chart products and third-party options such as Navionics or C-MAP that also run on LightHouse, rather than one being locked to the hardware. Coverage region and update frequency vary between providers, so it is worth checking which areas and how current the data is before choosing, particularly for tidal and shallow-water detail if you cruise close inshore.
Card capacity and format matter on older Axiom units, which take a different card size to current models, so check what the specific display accepts before ordering rather than assuming compatibility across the range.
Updates are usually handled through the LightHouse app on a phone or tablet rather than by swapping cards each season, though the initial chart purchase still needs loading onto the card physically the first time.
