QSY Thrusters
Quick QSY Thrusters — part of the Quick Thruster Systems range.
Sizing a bow thruster correctly
A thruster's pulling power needs to suit the boat's displacement and windage, not just its length, so a tall flybridge boat or one that catches a lot of wind at the bow needs more thrust than a similar length boat with a lower profile. Tunnel diameter is fixed once installed, so check the QSY's recommended tunnel size against your hull before committing to a glassed-in tunnel, since retrofitting a wider tunnel later is a major job.
Voltage and battery capacity matter as much as motor power: a thruster drawing heavy current for even short bursts needs cabling and a battery bank sized for that peak load, and undersized cable is a common cause of disappointing thrust that has nothing to do with the thruster itself. Confirm control compatibility, whether joystick, panel switch or wireless, with the rest of your helm before ordering.
