How digital switching replaces a breaker panel

A CZone system replaces a wall of physical breakers and rocker switches with output interface modules distributed around the boat, each controlling a group of circuits and reporting back over NMEA 2000 to a Control X unit or a compatible display. Circuits are switched and monitored from a touchscreen or app rather than a dedicated physical switch for every light, pump and appliance, which also means new circuits can often be added in software rather than by wiring in another switch.

Contact and signal interfaces extend the system to inputs that are not simple on/off loads, such as tank senders, bilge alarms or existing analogue gauges, bringing that data onto the same network as the switching. Because the whole system depends on its NMEA 2000 backbone, planning module placement and network capacity at the outset saves reworking cable runs later, and it is worth mapping out every circuit you want under digital control before ordering modules.
