Water Heaters
Quick Water Heaters range. Part of the Quick brand at Hudson Marine Electronics.
Choosing capacity and heat source
Quick's calorifiers heat water either from engine coolant while under way, from a 230V immersion element on shore power or generator, or both, so the right model depends on how the boat is used. A boat run daily gets most of its hot water free from coolant heat exchange, while one that spends time on shore power relies more on the immersion element. Match tank capacity to crew numbers and typical time aboard rather than boat length alone, since a small crew on a large boat still only needs modest capacity.
Check the immersion element's wattage against your AC supply and breaker rating before fitting, and confirm the coolant heat exchanger's hose fittings suit your engine's cooling circuit. Insulation quality affects how long water stays hot at anchor, which matters more on boats without shore power overnight. Ask us if you are unsure which capacity suits your layout.
