The Zeus and Vulcan ranges share Navico's core chartplotting engine with Simrad and Lowrance, but B&G adds sailing-specific screens such as SailSteer and wind data overlays, along with polar performance and laylines calculated from true wind angle and boat speed where supported. To get these sailing pages working properly you need wind, speed and heading data on the network, typically from B&G's own instruments feeding NMEA 2000.
Screen size should be chosen for the mounting position as much as data density. A display at the companionway or nav station can run larger, while a helm-mounted unit competing with sun glare and limited panel depth often does better with a smaller, brighter screen. Multiple displays on one boat share cartography and settings automatically once networked, so a second station does not need its own chart card.
