FT Technologies FT602 Ultrasonic Wind Sensor - NMEA 0183

The FT Technologies FT602 is a compact ultrasonic wind sensor for demanding applications where precise performance meets the need for reduced weight. Weighing only 170g, the FT6 Series comes fully equipped with Acu-Res acoustic resonance technology as standard, reading wind speeds up to 75 m/s along with wind angle, temperature, pressure, compass, tilt and acceleration.

Acu-Res creates a more robust ultrasonic signal, around 40dB stronger than other ultrasonics, that is highly resistant to shock, vibration and interference, and its software automatically compensates for changes in air temperature, pressure and humidity. With a 10Hz output rate the FT602 enables real-time fine tuning of navigation and control systems, and every sensor is individually calibrated in FT's wind tunnels so no re-calibration is required.

With no moving parts the sensor is maintenance free and resistant to bird attack. It is fully sealed to IP66 and IP67 including the connector, operates from -20°C to +60°C and at altitudes up to 4000m, and runs on low power from 5 to 24 VDC, making it USB compatible. A simple 3-screw surface mount, with an adaptor for pipe mounting, makes it easy to integrate. Cable and mount are not included.

The NMEA 0183 version connects directly to industry standard autopilots, data loggers, control systems and displays without the need for an external converter.
