Garmin Amplifiers
Garmin pairs decades of GPS heritage with some of the most capable sonar and chartplotting on the water. This is the Garmin amplifiers range: marine amplifiers to drive a full onboard audio system.

Sizing an amplifier to your speakers
The amplifier needs to be matched to the speakers it drives, not the other way round: check the RMS power handling of each speaker pair against the amplifier's rated output per channel, and pay attention to impedance, since running speakers below their rated ohm load can damage both the speaker and the amp. Multi-zone amplifiers let you run separate volume levels for a helm, cockpit and cabin from one unit, which is useful on boats where different areas are in use at once.
A subwoofer channel is usually bridged from two amplifier channels, so check how many channels are left for standard speakers once a sub is added. Mounting location should stay dry and ventilated, since amplifiers generate heat and most marine units are only splash rather than fully submersible rated; a sealed, damp locker with no airflow is one of the more common places an amplifier fails early.
