Monitoring
Marine Battery & Power Monitoring Systems
Track your vessel's electrical system health with precision monitoring equipment. Our monitoring collection provides complete visibility into battery state, power consumption, and system performance:
- Monitoring Panels & Displays - Centralized system monitoring
- Battery Gauges - Voltage, current, and state-of-charge displays
- Battery Shunts - Precision current measurement
- MasterBus Monitoring - Mastervolt integrated monitoring
Victron Energy BMV battery monitors and Mastervolt systems provide accurate state-of-charge, remaining runtime, and historical data via Bluetooth apps and displays.
System Integration: Monitor batteries, solar charging, inverters, and all power systems. Display data on Simrad, Raymarine, or Garmin chartplotters via NMEA 2000.
Getting an accurate reading
A monitor is only as good as its calibration and the shunt reading behind it. Every load and every charge source needs to pass through the shunt for the state of charge figure to mean anything; a windlass or inverter wired to bypass it will throw the numbers out within days. Battery capacity, Peukert exponent and charged voltage all need setting correctly during commissioning, and it is worth resetting the synchronisation after the first full charge cycle.
Bluetooth apps give a quick check from the cockpit, but a hardwired display or NMEA 2000 connection to an existing chartplotter is more useful underway, since it puts voltage and remaining runtime alongside your other instruments rather than on a separate screen you have to unlock.
On boats with more than one bank, decide whether you need a monitor per bank or a single unit with multiple inputs before you buy; retrofitting a second shunt later usually means running new cable back to the negative bus bar.
