Chart card format and coverage explained
Navionics+ charts are sold on a card format specific to your chartplotter brand, either a microSD card in a slot or adaptor, or a proprietary chart card for older units, so check your display's exact card slot before ordering rather than assuming compatibility across brands. Coverage areas vary by region and by how far offshore the detail extends, so confirm the chart region matches your actual cruising ground, particularly if you split time between UK and wider European waters.
Freshest Data gives a limited window of free chart updates after activation, downloaded through the Navionics Boating app or desktop tool rather than automatically over the network, so it is worth registering the card as soon as you fit it. SonarChart HD bathymetry and Community Edits both rely on other users' logged data, so detail can be patchier in less-frequented anchorages than on well-charted routes.
