Identifying the correct sonar spare

Transducer cables, connectors and mounting hardware are model-specific, so the safest way to order a spare is against the exact unit it replaces rather than by description alone: connector pin counts and cable lengths both vary across Simrad's sonar range, and a part that looks similar may not seat correctly. Where a transducer cable has been cut short during a previous install, an extension is usually a better fix than forcing a replacement cable to reach.

Corrosion at the connector is one of the more common reasons a working transducer starts giving intermittent readings, so it is worth checking pins and seals before assuming the transducer itself has failed.
