Transducers for RVM1600

Every transducer compatible with the Raymarine RVM1600 3D CHIRP sonar module, from the official RVM1600 installation instructions (87436 Rev 1, section 6). RealVision MAX 3D and RealVision 3D transducers connect directly to the 25-pin socket; SideVision, DownVision and CPT-S transducers use adapter cable A80490; CHIRP transducers up to 1 kW use the 11-pin socket, with traditional models via adapter cable A80496.

Getting the transducer connection right

The RVM1600 module reads the connector on a transducer rather than the model name, which is why adapter cables matter as much as the transducer choice itself. Fitting the wrong adapter, or none where one is required, is the most common reason a RealVision or CHIRP transducer shows no return on an otherwise correctly wired system. Cable runs from transducer to module should be kept as short as the installation allows and away from bilge pumps or other sources of electrical noise, since the 3D beam is more sensitive to interference than a standard single-beam signal.

Mounting position affects the picture as much as the transducer itself. A thru-hull or transom position too close to the prop, keel or a step in the hull will show turbulence in the return rather than a clean bottom trace, so plan the fitting location before drilling. Speak to us if you are not sure which adapter your chosen transducer needs.
