The Scanstrut DS21B Small is a vertical entry cable seal for a single thicker cable of 9-14mm, with a 21mm opening that passes connectors of up to 21mm. Moulded in grey high-impact plastic, it seals the entry through a deck or bulkhead to IP68 watertight. You install it without removing the connector, and no sealant is needed.

Description

The Scanstrut DS21B Small shares the 21mm opening of the DS21A but is fitted with bungs for a single thicker cable of 9-14mm, while connectors of up to 21mm still pass through. It is ideal where a heavier power, radar or multi-core lead needs to be brought below decks without cutting off its plug.

The grey low-profile dome is ultra-strong and impact-resistant, and the pre-drilled, blank and split bungs supplied let the seal suit cable diameters across its 9-14mm range. Captive nuts make assembly fast and easy to repeat.

The cable is routed without removing its connector and with no sealant on the bungs, so a single neat IP68 waterproof entry is achieved quickly.

Can this cable seal be installed below the waterline?
No, these seals are designed to be installed above the waterline.
What's the best way to drill a blank bung?
Before drilling holes, freeze the blank seal in a freezer, this makes it very easy to accurately and neatly drill the hole. For best fit around cables drill a hole Ø1-2mm larger than the cable diameter. When drilling into a frozen blank seal this hole will look far too big but when the seal defrosts, it will be a good tight fit.
