Description
The Quick BTAC386-450 HD is a three-phase AC bow thruster with twin counter-rotating propellers, rated at 450 kgf of thrust for a 386 mm diameter tunnel and a 400/690V three-phase supply. The asynchronous motor is rated 30 kW.
Quick lists the BTAC 386 range for boats of roughly 22-43 m (72-141 ft) (quickitaly.com). Components in contact with water are made of suitable marine materials: the gearbox is aluminium-bronze alloy, the anode aluminium and the output shaft stainless steel (BTAC manual). It has an independent, replaceable aluminium anode and an elastic coupling.
AC thrusters need an AC power control (Quick optional accessory) for the electrical connection of the motor, plus a thruster control such as the TCD 2022, TCD 2042, TCD 2044 or TCD 2062 (not included).
HD denotes the heavy-duty version as listed by Quick; the manual lists it as a separate model with its own weight.
