Description
The Quick BTAC513-750 is a three-phase AC bow thruster with twin counter-rotating propellers, rated at 750 kgf of thrust for a 513 mm diameter tunnel and a 400/690V three-phase supply. The asynchronous motor is rated 45 kW.
Quick lists the BTAC 513 range for boats of roughly 29-48 m (95-155 ft) (quickitaly.com). Components in contact with water are made of suitable marine materials: the gearbox is aluminium-bronze alloy, the anode aluminium and the output shaft stainless steel (BTAC manual). It has an independent, replaceable aluminium anode and an elastic coupling.
AC thrusters need an AC power control (Quick optional accessory) for the electrical connection of the motor, plus a thruster control such as the TCD 2022, TCD 2042, TCD 2044 or TCD 2062 (not included).
