Description
This is the Quick counter flange for the BTR250 retractable bow thruster, in GRP (glass-reinforced plastic). Quick's BTR manual states the retractable thruster is sold separately from the counter flange, which can be supplied in different materials (composite, aluminium or steel).
The counter flange is separate from the supporting structure and distributes mechanical stresses to the hull; it is laminated (composite) or welded (aluminium/steel) into the hull opening before the thruster is fitted. The manual gives the counter flange installation procedure and tightening torque for its screws (15 Nm).
