Iris Through-Hull & Docking Cameras
Iris Through-Hull & Docking Cameras
Compact through-hull and flush-mount Iris cameras for docking, close-quarters manoeuvring and aft views. Machined from 316L stainless steel for permanent installation in the hull, transom or superstructure, above or below the waterline.
Fitting a through-hull camera properly
A through-hull Iris camera is a permanent installation, cut into the hull, transom or superstructure rather than clamped on, so it is worth planning the position carefully before drilling: below the waterline for a clear view of the prop or rudder area, or above it for a docking angle that a transom-mounted camera cannot easily match. The 316L stainless housing is built to handle constant water contact, but the hole it sits in still needs to be sealed and backed correctly for the hull thickness at that point, in the same way as any other through-hull fitting.
Cable routing from the camera back to the display needs the same care as other through-hull wiring: a service loop with enough slack to remove the camera for maintenance without disturbing the seal, and a route that avoids sharp bends near the housing where the cable exits.
