These pages stay live mainly so owners can pull up wiring diagrams, transducer pinouts and firmware notes for units that are no longer sold, which matters when a display fails and needs replacing without redoing the whole helm. Before ordering a like-for-like replacement, check what the old unit was actually connected to: NMEA 2000 backbone, NMEA 0183 instruments, a specific transducer connector, or a proprietary Lowrance network cable, since not all of that carries forward unchanged to current models.
Chart cards are another sticking point. Older units often took a different card format or an earlier chart edition than current Lowrance plotters, so a card that worked in the old unit may not read in a new one even from the same chart provider.
If you are planning a straight swap rather than a full refit, it is worth confirming transducer compatibility and network protocol before committing, since that is usually what determines whether the rest of the installation can stay as it is.
