Cabling a Lowrance radar install

Radar data runs over Ethernet on current Lowrance systems, so the cable between the scanner and the display needs to be a marine-rated Ethernet cable of sufficient length for the run, with enough slack at both ends to avoid strain on the connectors. Running the cable through a mast or arch usually means fitting connectors after the cable is threaded through, rather than trying to pass a pre-terminated plug through a tight conduit.

Mounting brackets and adaptor plates account for most of what is needed to complete a radar install beyond the scanner and cable itself, and the correct bracket depends on both the scanner model and the mounting surface, whether that is a flat arch, a mast bracket or a radar pole. Check bolt spacing and material against the mounting location before ordering.
