Maretron's background is in NMEA 2000 monitoring and digital switching, and its multifunction displays reflect that: they are built to present detailed system data, tank levels, engine parameters, digital switching states, alongside the usual chartplotting functions, rather than treating navigation as the sole purpose of the screen. This makes them a natural fit on a boat already running a Maretron N2K network for monitoring, where the display becomes the single point for both navigation and system status.
