This collection spans chartplotters, radar, fishfinders and autopilots from several manufacturers, and the practical question when building or extending a system is less which brand is best and more which network they all share. Simrad, B&G and Lowrance run on a common Navico backbone, Raymarine uses SeaTalkng, and Garmin has its own Marine Network alongside standard NMEA 2000, so mixing brands usually means running an NMEA 2000 backbone and adding the right adaptor cable for each unit.

Radar choice depends on vessel size and the conditions you actually need to see through: a compact radome suits most leisure boats, while an open array pedestal gives narrower beam width and better target separation at range, which matters more for commercial or offshore work. Fishfinder performance depends heavily on matching the transducer, not just the display, to your hull material, deadrise and typical depth.
