How MG's lithium modules stay balanced
MG Energy Systems batteries are built as modules that communicate over CAN bus with a Master BMS, which handles cell balancing and decides when to allow or block charging and discharging. This differs from a simple lithium battery with an internal BMS, since the system needs the charger and inverter to actually respect the signals the Master BMS sends rather than ignoring them.
Module capacity varies across the range, and modules are generally combined to reach the bank size you need rather than a single unit covering everything, so plan total capacity before ordering rather than adding modules piecemeal. Wiring between modules and the Master BMS follows a specific topology, and getting this wrong affects balancing across the whole bank rather than just one cell group.
Because charging equipment needs to be compatible with the BMS communication, it is worth checking your charger and inverter against MG's specification before committing, or contact us to check compatibility first.
