Sourcing a superseded Quick part
Quick, the Italian manufacturer known for windlasses, thrusters and battery chargers, occasionally supersedes older models with a new generation carrying different part numbers but broadly similar fitting dimensions, so a discontinued product's original specification is still a useful reference point when hunting for a replacement or a compatible spare.
Windlass and thruster motors in particular are often specific to a gearbox and drum size, so a direct like-for-like swap depends on matching the mechanical footprint as much as the electrical rating; a newer motor with more power does not always bolt straight onto an older gearbox without checking shaft and mounting dimensions first.
Where a control panel or solenoid has been discontinued, check whether the wiring and voltage rating match your existing installation before assuming a current equivalent is a straight swap, since control electronics change between generations even when the mechanical parts they operate stay the same.
