Where Commercial differs from consumer Simrad
Simrad Commercial shares its underlying technology with the leisure range but is built and specified for continuous duty rather than weekend use. Displays, sensors and cabling are rated for the vibration, temperature swings and long duty cycles of a working vessel, and the range is typically supplied and fitted as a complete system rather than picked component by component.
HALO radar within the Commercial line is chosen for target detection at longer range and in poor visibility, which matters more for collision avoidance on a working deck than the shorter-range overlay most leisure boats use. Sensors across the range, from rate of turn to engine interfaces, are built to keep reporting accurately after years of hard use rather than a season or two.
