Simrad Commercial Radars
Simrad Commercial radar for workboats, fishing vessels and professional craft, including Halo and broadband arrays built for demanding duty cycles.
What sets commercial radar apart
Commercial-rated radar is built for duty cycles that leisure units are not designed to sustain, running continuously for long passages rather than being switched on for occasional use. Halo and broadband array scanners use pulse compression to hold resolution at both short and long range simultaneously, which matters on a workboat moving between close-quarters harbour work and open-water passage in the same trip. Power draw and mounting weight are higher than a leisure radome, so check the vessel's 12V or 24V supply and the mast or arch load rating before specifying a unit.
Dual radar setups, running two scanners on different ranges or frequencies, are common on commercial and fishing vessels working in poor visibility, and require a display capable of handling both feeds. Ask us if you need help matching scanner size and power draw to your vessel's electrical system and mounting arrangement.
