Description

The FLIR M364C-USV is a version of FLIR's flagship M300-series stabilised pan and tilt camera built for uncrewed and remotely operated surface vessels. It combines a 640 x 512 VOx thermal core with a 1/2.8 inch HD ultra-low-light visible camera with 30x optical zoom, and adds the features an autonomous platform needs: a C++ software development kit for Ubuntu 22.04 on ARM64, frame-accurate embedded metadata with no more than one frame of delay, NTP time synchronisation and asynchronous UDP telemetry, so the camera can feed perception, navigation and recording systems directly.

Enhanced active stabilisation and a reinforced pan and tilt driveline are designed for continuous 24/7 duty, and FLIR states that the camera exceeds IEC 60945 shock and vibration requirements, with controlled failure modes. Two-axis gyro stabilisation, 360 degree continuous pan and plus or minus 90 degree tilt, FLIR Color Thermal Vision and Marine Video Analytics are carried over from the M364C, together with analog BNC, HD-SDI and multiple H.264 IP video streams. With its wider 24 by 19.2 degree thermal field of view, FLIR describes the M364C-USV as suitable for almost all vessels. This is the 30 Hz model for smooth viewing of fast-moving scenes.

What is the difference between the USV version and the standard M364C?
The USV version is built for uncrewed and remotely operated vessels. FLIR adds a C++ SDK for Ubuntu 22.04 ARM64, frame-accurate embedded metadata, NTP time sync, asynchronous UDP telemetry, enhanced active stabilisation and a reinforced pan and tilt driveline for 24/7 duty.
Should I choose the M364C-USV or the M364C LR-USV?
FLIR describes the M364C-USV, with its 24 by 19.2 degree thermal field of view, as suitable for almost all vessels. The LR-USV has a narrower 18 by 14.4 degree field of view and 25 mm lens for longer detection range, and is recommended for stable platforms and larger vessels.
What power does the camera need?
12 to 24 V DC, drawing 41 W nominal and 56 W with the heaters running.
