Keeping an older B&G system running

Many discontinued B&G displays, particularly earlier Triton and Zeus generations, were built around the H3000 or H5000 processor and SimNet cabling rather than the NMEA 2000 backbone used on current models. If one unit in that chain fails, replacing it in isolation only works if the new part still speaks SimNet or if you fit a bridging cable to move onto Micro-C. Before ordering a replacement, check the connector on the back of the failed unit against what is actually on sale now.

Specification sheets and manuals remain on these pages for reference even though the products themselves are retired, which is useful when tracing a fault or ordering a like-for-like spare from a chandlery. Where no direct equivalent exists, the current Zeus or Vulcan range is generally the closest match in mounting footprint and data compatibility. Talk to us if you are trying to keep an older sailing instrument system alive rather than replace it outright.
