Adding audio to your network
Fusion's NMEA 2000 range lets a stereo share the same backbone already carrying chartplotter and instrument data, rather than needing its own dedicated wiring for source and volume control between zones. A drop cable from the main NMEA 2000 backbone to a Fusion device works the same way as adding any other sensor to the network: tee into the backbone with a T-piece, keep within the network's power budget, and terminate the backbone correctly at both ends.
Where this differs from a typical instrument is what the network then does with it: a compatible MFD can display and control the stereo directly, and zone controllers or keypads elsewhere on the boat can adjust volume and source independently without their own audio wiring back to the main unit, since only control data needs to travel over NMEA 2000, not the audio signal itself.
