Iris Camera Recorders, Switchers & Interfaces
The Iris CMAC camera management and recording systems, hybrid and IP network recorders, IrisControl host interfaces and analogue and HD video switchers that bring an Iris camera installation together and integrate it with Raymarine, Navico, Furuno and Garmin displays.
Building an Iris camera installation
An Iris camera installation is built around a recorder or switcher rather than the cameras alone, since that is the component that brings multiple feeds together and pushes them out to a display. A CMAC recorder stores footage locally for later review, which suits engine room or anti-fouling checks, while a switcher is for live viewing only, cycling or selecting between camera feeds on a helm display without recording anything.
Integration with a Raymarine, Navico, Furuno or Garmin display happens through the IrisControl host interface, which converts the camera feed into a format the chartplotter can show as an app or overlay, so check which host interface matches your existing display brand before adding cameras. Camera count and cable run length both affect which recorder or switcher model has enough inputs and video bandwidth for the job; contact us if you would like help planning a multi-camera layout.
