Fitting a display into a MarinePod
A MarinePod is built around a specific display's cutout dimensions, so the pod must be ordered for the exact model of chartplotter going into it rather than just the screen size, since two displays with a similar diagonal can have different bezel depths and mounting hole spacing. Check the pod's rear clearance against the display's connector positions too, as some units have cabling exiting from the side rather than directly behind, which needs extra depth in an enclosed pod.
Pods are typically moulded to angle the screen for reduced glare at the helm, so mounting position should account for that fixed angle relative to where the helmsman sits or stands. Cable entry is usually sealed at the base, so plan the run from the display down through the pedestal or console before final fitting, leaving enough slack to service the display later without disconnecting the whole loom.
