A satellite TV dome only performs as well as its mounting and power supply allow. The dome itself needs a clear, unobstructed view of the sky through its full rotation, so plan the position with masts, radar arches and other domes in mind before drilling, since a shadowed arc will show up as dropped signal at certain headings.
Power draw during acquisition is higher than during steady tracking, so check the dome's current requirement against the circuit and fuse rating you're running it from, and size cable gauge for the full run length rather than a rough guess. Most domes also need a coax or Ethernet run down to the receiver, separate from the power feed.
Multi room setups add a distribution amplifier or IP based splitter to feed more than one television from a single receiver, which is worth planning for at first fit if you already know a second cabin will want a screen later.
