Glomex
Hudson Marine stocks the full Glomex antenna range, from VHF, AIS and GPS antennas to the WeBBoat 4G/5G internet systems and Ryder satellite TV. Italian-built antennas and connectivity for every vessel.
Choosing the right Glomex antenna
Glomex covers VHF, AIS and GPS reception with both passive whip antennas and active, amplified models. On a boat with a lot of nearby metalwork or a long cable run to the radio, an active antenna usually holds signal better than a passive one over the same distance. Mounting position matters as much as the antenna itself: VHF and AIS aerials need height and clear line of sight, while GPS antennas want an unobstructed view of the sky, away from radar and other transmitting equipment.
WeBBoat systems bring 4G/5G internet aboard using a local SIM and Wi-Fi distribution rather than a satellite link, so coverage depends on shore-based network signal rather than clear sky. Ryder satellite TV needs a stabilised dome with an unobstructed view as the vessel moves, and a receiver matched to your regional satellite footprint.
