How the Scanstrut ranges differ
Scanstrut's product lines solve different problems rather than offering the same thing in different sizes. ROKK Wireless mounts are built around Qi charging for phones at the helm; the waterproof case range protects tablets and handheld devices that are carried on and off the boat; PowerTower and the standard mount arms are aimed at fixed displays, radar domes and antennas that stay in place for the season. Deciding between them usually comes down to whether the device needs to be removable or permanently plumbed into the boat's power and data.
Compatibility is generally by mounting standard, such as a RAM ball or Scanstrut's own fitting, rather than by brand, so a case or bracket bought for one chartplotter will often suit another of similar size. Cable seals and gland fittings are worth ordering at the same time as a mount, since routing power or NMEA cable through a deck or console is usually the part installers forget to plan for.
