Description

The Raymarine CAM400 is a compact, rugged day and night IP camera built for Axiom chartplotters. Its 1/2.8" CMOS sensor delivers 1920 x 1080 video through a 2.58 mm wide-angle lens with a 129.4° horizontal field of view, so you can watch blind spots, keep an eye on the cockpit or check on the engine room from the helm. True day/night operation with a mechanical IR cut filter and integrated 850 nm infrared illumination keep the picture useful up to 10 m away in darkness.

This version is finished in gloss marine white. It is rated IPx6 and IPx7, works from -20 °C to +60 °C and can be installed above or below deck, ball-up or ball-down, with the image flipped to suit. A single fitted cable carries a RayNet connection and a 12 V power breakout, so the camera can run on Power over Ethernet (802.3af Class 2) or direct 12 V dc. You will need a RayNet or RayNet to RJ45 cable to connect it.

The CAM400 works with Axiom 2 Pro, Axiom 2 XL, Axiom 2 and the original Axiom, Axiom+, Axiom Pro and Axiom XL displays on LightHouse v4.11.133 or later, and up to four cameras can be shown on one screen. On Axiom 2 displays running LightHouse 5 it can add adjustable distance guidelines for close-quarters manoeuvring, and adding an AR200 sensor unlocks ClearCruise Augmented Reality. If you would like help planning a camera system, our team is happy to advise.

Which displays work with the CAM400?
Raymarine Axiom 2 Pro, Axiom 2 XL, Axiom 2 and the original Axiom, Axiom+, Axiom Pro and Axiom XL displays, running LightHouse software v4.11.133 or later. Previous-generation Raymarine displays are not supported. It is also ONVIF Profile S compatible for third-party viewers.
How do I power the CAM400?
Either over Power over Ethernet (IEEE 802.3af Class 2) from a PoE switch such as the RNS-8 or the A80811 PoE injector, or directly from a 12 V dc supply using the power wires on the camera cable, protected by a 2 A inline fuse.
What cable do I need to connect it?
The camera has a fitted cable with a RayNet (male) connector. To connect it you need a RayNet (female) to RayNet (female) cable, or a RayNet (female) to RJ45 (male) adapter cable for equipment with an RJ45 port. These are sold separately with the camera on its own.
Can it be mounted upside down?
Yes. The CAM400 can be installed ball-up or ball-down, and the image can be flipped horizontally and vertically to suit.
How many cameras can I view?
Up to four CAM400 streams can be shown on one chartplotter, and a single camera can be viewed on up to ten networked displays.
Does it show distance guidelines for docking?
Yes, on Axiom 2-series chartplotters running LightHouse 5 v5.0.126 or later. Line spacing and angle can be adjusted to match your installation.
How well does it see at night?
Integrated 850 nm infrared illumination gives visibility up to 10 m (33 ft) in darkness, and true day/night operation with a mechanical IR cut filter switches automatically as light levels change.
How much storage does recording use?
Raymarine quotes approximately 7.1 MB per minute at 1080p, or about 140 minutes per GB.
Can it display augmented reality?
Yes. Pair the CAM400 with an AR200 sensor (E70537) on the same network as a compatible Axiom display to unlock ClearCruise Augmented Reality, which overlays AIS targets, waypoints and chart objects on the live video. AR is viewed in the chartplotter Video app.
