Choosing between B&G's ranges
Zeus and Vulcan cover the display side, from touchscreen units at the chart table to smaller helm displays for a cockpit pod; the main differences are screen size, processing power and which sensors each can drive directly. Triton and Triton2 handle the instrument side, showing wind, speed and depth from masthead and hull transducers over a SimNet or NMEA 2000 backbone.
Where B&G separates itself from general marine electronics is the performance layer. SailSteer overlays wind angle, heel and course on one screen, laylines works out tacking angles in real time, and the WTP wireless triducer reads a masthead sensor without a cable run down the rig. All of it shares data across the network, so an autopilot, plotter and instrument display can pull from the same wind and boat speed sensors rather than each needing its own.
