Simrad
Simrad builds the helm electronics serious cruisers and sportfishers rely on. Hudson Marine stocks the NSX and NSS multifunction displays, HALO radar, Active Imaging sonar, and the autopilots and networking to tie them together.
Extended warranty, up to 5 years. Manufacturer-backed cover on eligible B&G, Simrad, Lowrance and Navico equipment, from an authorised UK dealer.

NSX suits smaller helms and single station boats where panel space is tight, while NSS Evo3S is built to run several networked displays, so a chartplotter at the helm can mirror sonar or radar shown at a second station. Before ordering, check how many spare NMEA 2000 and Ethernet ports the boat already has, since HALO radar, an Active Imaging transducer and an autopilot course computer each need their own connection into the network.
Active Imaging sonar comes as a skimmer transducer for planing hulls or a thru-hull housing for deeper vee hulls, and the two are not interchangeable, so match transducer type to hull deadrise and transom shape rather than boat length alone. HALO radomes and open array scanners both use pulse compression, differing mainly in beam width and detection range, with open arrays better suited to offshore passage making where separating targets matters more than dome size.
